Here at Westdijk we like a challenge, and jumped on the opportunity to transport something a little bit different.
We were asked to deliver an artist’s sculpture from East Belgium to the University of Salamanca’s courtyard in Salamanca, West of Madrid, Spain.
We used one of our rigid road-train vehicles, which allowed us to load the four pieces, each 3.00 metres wide together, rather than using two separate trucks.
Due to the delivery location, in the city centre of Salamanca, our truck had to be escorted by Spanish Police during the early hours of a Saturday morning to Plaza de Anaya the delivery point of the art pieces.
You can see from the pictures that our driver had to negotiate some very narrow city centre roads to reach the final delivery point.
